ARTIST BIO

All about Antonia's Art

Antonia Hayter was born in London from a well known artistic family.  Her first attempts at drawing were with crayons on the floor of the studio in Paris of her Great Uncle, the renowned artist, Stanley William Hayter, RA, CBE.

Antonia attended The University of The Arts, The London College of Fashion but her first love has always been painting in watercolour and later etching and printmaking, which was her Great Uncle’s life’s work.
Antonia is inspired by nature and realism, wanting to capture the ephemeral beauty of flowers and insects in their short moment of perfection.
These present works include some early Pen and Ink drawings from 1999 when Antonia was studying Art and Textiles at The Royal Masonic School for Girls.

This black and white work naturally led on to experiments in etching.  Antonia is at present working on further engravings of insects and native bird species. She prints at the London Print Studio.
All current works are offered for sale unframed.
